Why this page exists

A plumbing website has one job: getting a phone number and a clear answer to the person who needs them, quickly. That has to work for people who use a keyboard instead of a mouse, a screen reader, magnification, voice control or a small phone with the text turned up. Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

Features built into every page

• The first item you can tab to is a link that jumps straight past the menu to the page content, and a visible outline always shows where the keyboard focus is.
• Headings, lists and page regions are marked up properly, so assistive technology can move through a page by structure.
• Pictures carry written descriptions of what they show.
• Colour combinations meet the AA contrast ratios, and colour is never the only way something is communicated.
• The mobile menu and the question-and-answer panels use built-in HTML controls. The only script on the site is a visitor counter, so blocking scripts changes nothing about how the pages work.
• Pages reflow on screens as narrow as 320 pixels and can be zoomed to 200% without content being cut off.
• Every form field keeps a visible label, and required fields say so in words, not only with an asterisk.
• If your device asks for reduced motion, the small hover animation on the service cards is switched off.

Where we fall short

The confirmation screen that appears after you send the callback form comes from the outside service that delivers it to us, so we cannot fully control how it behaves. Phoning (347) 506-2598 skips it entirely.
